In today’s rapidly evolving industrial environment, automation is essential for maintaining competitiveness. At Robotehnika, we are well aware of this, which is why we also implement modern practices in our own production. Our in-house team of development specialists plays an important role in this process.
This time, we are sharing the story of how we improved one of our production processes and achieved outstanding results by implementing an advanced robotic cell.
Challenge: Higher Productivity and Lower Costs
Before automation was introduced, the production of part X required two operators, who together manufactured 160 parts per shift. Due to the low unit value of the part, optimizing the process was essential.
The challenge was clear: how could we increase productivity while reducing operating costs?
The answer? The implementation of a robotic cell.
Solution: An Integrated Robotic Cell
The robotic cell integrates two CNC lathes, one CNC milling machine, and a FANUC robot. Thanks to its speed and reliability, the robot ensures seamless tending of all three machines. It automatically loads and unloads workpieces, significantly reducing the need for manual intervention in the production process.

The Operator’s Role
The operator now takes on a supervisory role. Their task is to load the cut blanks onto the infeed conveyor and, once the process is complete, collect them at the outfeed station and perform a quality check. This has allowed us to optimize the workflow and enable the operator to focus on more important tasks.
Results That Exceeded Expectations
The results exceeded our expectations. Through automation, we reduced the number of operators required to manufacture part X from two to just one, while increasing output from 160 to 380 parts per shift.
